History of the firm
Founded in 1948 in Genoa, the law firm has built up a strong reputation in the field of international, shipping, commercial and tax law, and in variety of corporate and commercial matters at both national and international level.
The firm's lawyers are qualified in different areas of law and therefore in a position to offer clients a full range of legal services, such as commercial and business law, international transactions, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, tax law, shipping law, insurance law, as well as family law.
Our clients include large manufacturing, service, distribution, real estate development and insurance companies, as well as emerging and mid-size business.
In many cases, our relation dates back more than 30 years.
Most of our lawyers have published various articles in important Italian and international journals.
Our members regularly speak at and attend legal and business conference worldwide.
During the '80, Cugurra-Rocca has further strengthened its role as a leading provider of international legal services with the establishment of a Milan office, the industrial and commercial heart of Italy.
On the year 2000, a fruitful co-operation with the law firm Grama-Popovici Group has lead to the opening of an office in Bucharest (Romania).
The activity and the servicing to clients carried out by the Law office of CUGURRA - ROCCA are based on the following concepts.
- A maximum standard of care and expertise in the work of research, counselling and drafting coupled with a selective choice of local experts whose advice and contribution are provided on specific matters forming part of the services needed by the client;
- A full integration in the administrative and economic context of Italy resulting in the building up of relationship and connection networks enabling a successful achievement of the client's objectives.
- Fluency in English, French, German, Spanish, Romanian, Czech, Slovak enabling an easy understanding and co-ordination between the client, the lawyer and the local parties;
In common with most international firms, we assess our fees on the basis of time incurred for the great majority of our work, although property related work is also charged on the basis of the value of the property.
In addition to assessing the time spent, we also take into consideration factors such as the complexity of the matter, the specialised knowledge and responsibility involved and the number and importance of the documents.
Occasionally, where the amount of work can be assessed in advance we can give a fix quotation.
Riccardo Federico Rocca, Francesco Cugurra and their colleagues are always prepared, at no cost, to attend initial meetings to discuss preliminary matters and also give estimates of likely fees. It is also our policy to keep clients fully informed, as a matter proceeds, of the level of costs being incurred.
